Is there a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI cable out there? somewhere?

I have my Macbook Pro connected to my HDTV through a MiniDisplay Port to DVI and then I have another cable that is a DVI to HDMI cable that goes into my HDTV. That's how I hook it up. I was wondering if there is an all-in-one cable out there. Am I crazy?

Mini DisplayPort adapter question... ...

Does the Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter support video & audio? Or just video?

I'll be using it with a 2010 Macbook Pro. I've heard that Macbook Pro's from last year, that they don't support video & audio, but only video. Who know something about this?

Schweb, the ones I see there, don't support audio, only video. Thanks for pointing them out, tho. I will consider them.

Are you trying to connect the latest model Mac? Only the MBP models beginning April 13, 2010 have audio out through mini displayport.

There are no mini displayport to HDMI cables with audio that I have seen yet.

I have seen two adapters out now though. So you would use the mini displayport to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable.

The two adapters are the one listed on Apple's site by Moshi and one by Griffin. I have not spent the time looking for the cheapest place to buy either one of them.

If you're running your audio through a separate receiver, not really worth the hassle of changing out what you have.

For anyone else reading this looking for iMac info - the iMac began supporting audio through the mdp in Oct. '09.

Bobtomay,
the Moshi one is what I was looking for. My Macbook Pro, I bought it 3 weeks ago, so I am sure it'll get the audio as well. Thanks for helping me find the cable I needed. :)

You'll still need an HDMI cable to go along with the Moshi adapter.

But, you won't have to run a separate audio cable to the TV any longer.

Bobtomay, running the extra HDMI cable from the DisplayPort to HDMI adapter won't bother me as much as having an all-in-one Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable that won't support audio as well... ...

In the end, the Moshi cable you indicated, will do the job.

The reason why I didn't catch it the first time when I was surfing on the Apple web-site, is because it said "Mini DP to HDMI". Being new to the Apple world, I thought "DP" was an abbreviation for a different kind of cable. It never crossed my mind that it actually was an abbreviation for DisplayPort. Mistery solved, satisfied with the discovery. Thanks again... ...
