Hi there. I have just got back onto my iBookG4 after not having used it for several weeks. I went to play a video but there was no sound. I then noticed that the Volume Speaker Icon was no longer in the taskbar at the top. I went to system preferences and opened Sound and checked the box, on and off, and back on again several times. Some of the other small icons shifted but still no Speaker Icon. I then went to my Itunes application and tried to play asong but again I could not get any audio. If anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful. Qball
Posted a little later: I searched the Forum online and found a solution and it worked!!! I trashed the Sound Preference Pane, as someone suggested, restarted and then reinstated the preference pane. Amazing, Itunes is working again and the icon is back in the task bar. Thank you.
