Upgrading Memory macbook (generation....?)

Hey everyone,

I don't know what generation my macbook is and therefore I don't know how much memory i can put in. I would either upgrade to 2x1gb or 2x2gb depending on what it could support. All I need to know is what generation it is. Here is my hardware overview.

Welcome to the Forum - this may help - Apple MacBook Specs (All MacBook Technical Specs) @ EveryMac.com but a quick look shows 4 models with 2GHz so u might have to do a bit of checking of specs, but it will tell u what ram u could use.

ok thanks a lot. From that information I am fairly confident that my macbook is this one.

So my mac supports up to 2x2gb ram, but is it really worth it to spend an extra $50 on 4 gb of ram than on just 2?

Depends - if u are on Snow Leopard running a number of apps or doing video rendering then i would say yes - if u are on Leopard and doing emails and surfing then i would say go for 2GB total. Put in another 1 GB chip
