Just ordered a MacBook Pro 15" with a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB, 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm, and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB. Do you think I can run Empire: Total War on it with decent graphics and good frame rates?

I'm looking at the new 13" Pro with a 2.53 GHz core, 4 GB or RAM, and the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I desperately want to be able to play Empire; I know there is enough RAM and the processor is fast enough, but I'm not sure about the graphics card.

Will it run?

That really shouldn't be a problem. The GPU, CPU and amount of memory are well beyond the requirements.

Empire: Total War System Requirements Revealed

Those system requirements are a joke. To run Empire smoothly, you're going to need a machine upwards of 3 GHz processor, 512 MB VRAM with a good graphics card, and 4 GB RAM.

So yes, it will "run," but I wouldn't expect great performance. Turning off some of the graphics options might help, and your machine is going to get piping hot.
