I am having trouble with the wireless mighty mouse. I can be working along just fine and then it stops working completely. I can turn the mouse off/on, pull the batteries but nothing makes it work again. If I reboot the MBP it works fine like nothing was ever wrong. This has happened several times and I cannot see any pattern to it.... any help??

Thanks!!

As a step in Troubleshooting try going to Sys Prefs/Bluetooth and check box for menubar icon, then when you next have a disconnect use track pad to select browse in drop down menu and see if that finds the MM. Have you got On and Discoverable checked in the bluetooth pane?

Will do, and yes it is set to discoverable.

Experiencing the same problem with Mighty Mouse...

Will do, and yes it is set to discoverable.

I'm experiencing the same problem with a bluetooth Mighty Mouse. It will be working fine and then, all of a sudden, the cursor doesn't move anymore. The quickest way I've found to get it working again is to use my trackpad to select the mouse's name from the bluetooth system menu. This brings up the bluetooth system preferences. Just bringing that up corrects the situation, so I simply close it. The mouse will then work fine for a while longer. I use my Mac a lot, so I typically experience this problem 2-3 times daily.

Has anyone found a permanent fix to this problem? I bought the mouse in February 2009 and I'm running OS X 10.5.7 on a MacBook Pro.

Common fault on the MM.

I click Bluetooth off/on in top toolbar - quickest way.

I still love it though, but for £50 it should just work without any niggles.

Master Coach, you may have a defective model. While the bluetooth connection on my MM occasionally drops out, three times a day is a little much.

When mine does drop out, I just use the trackpad to click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and disconnect the MM, then connect it again. You shouldn't have to reboot to just get you mouse moving again.

This problem seems to of been solved for me. The HD was going south so software must of been corrupted. After a fresh leopard install it has not happened since.

^^^ I have a brand new MBP with new MM ^^^ Plus have installed OS X twice since having it.

I did loads of searching on this issue and most people have it.

Mine drops out a couple of times a week.

Mine drops out about once every other day randomly. Bluetooth on/off works just fine, and I can tolerate it because heck this new trackpad is so brilliant I sometimes use it in favor of the mouse. I'm in the 'loves the MM' category but if bluetooth drops out I know how to fix it and love the trackpad.

Also I noticed with my old Macbook at least, I found that the mouse got a little erratic and unresponsive if I had my phone talking to my Macbook to transfer ringtones etc. Had to turn it off and go with the trackpad during those times. Must be a bandwidth thing. That trackpad wasn't quite as brilliant but perfectly workable.
