My macbook is about 3 months old. Whenever I open my macbook, a strange noise comes from the slot where you insert a disk. It sounds like it's loading a disk, and does this about 4 times until it stops. I have pressed the eject button, nothing comes out, and still happens whenever I open it. It's not just when it turns on, it's whenever I open it from it being closed/sleep. I have tried restarting but the problem remains. Help?

Well, the slot loading drives do make a noise when the machine comes out of sleep - but 4 times is unusual. Is the machine under warranty?

the noise is normal, it's just the system checking for any cd/dvds in there, but I'm not sure what you mean by 4 sounds, it's sort of a long sound that changes :D could you maybe record the sound? I would record mine, but atm I don't have my other computer at my disposal to do the recording
