My USB ports have suddenly stopped working. They will give me power, but no signal. I've tried three different peripherals (SanDisk cruzer micro, 4g iPod and ATI Remote Wonder reciever) and none of them work in either of my two ports. I've tried restarting - still nothing.
I've been using a 4 port hub and all was working fine, except that it seemed like the hub would work, but the open port wouldn't. I would leave the cable from my iPod plugged into the hub as well as the remote wonder reciever. When I would try to plug my flash drive into the open port on the PowerBook, it would light up, but not show up on the desktop. If I'd pull it out and try it in the hub, it would.
I ran the TechTool Deluxe diagnostic program that comes with AppleCare and it said the USB ports are both working fine.
I have AppleCare coverage for another two and a half years as my PB is only about four months old.

Any idea?

No, I look in my system profile and even though my iPod and flash drive are both plugged in (and getting power... the iPod is charging off the USB and the flash drive's LED is on) the system profiler just lists the USB ports and doesn't say anything about the devices plugged into them.

Okay, so now i just restarted my PB again and left the flash drive and the iPod plugged in when it restarted. It now recognizes anything plugged into the hub or the second USB port (I tried my iPod on both).
Is there any explanation for this or was it just a fluke?

Okay, so I'm still having troubles with my flash drive... System Profiler recognizes it, but it doesn't show up on the desktop! Is there any way for me to mount it?
