Prices? The "best one to get" often depends entirely on money. Obviously the Macbook in Optipon #2 is much more computer..........with a 4" smaller screen.

    Specs:
    15" MBP, Core i7/2GHz, 8GB RAM, 480GB Crucial M500 SSD
The MacBook is a little salty for a first generation model - I'd be looking at maybe $575 at the most.

The Powerbook is just laughably overpriced. A 1GHz machine, despite the big display, should be less than $600 in my opinion.
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

I think so. The future is Intel, and the old PowerBook is a rather slow PPC. Neither machine is a bargain, but of the two you mentioned, the MacBook is a better machine in my view.

Again, that's an old PPC machine. The price is better, although the lack of a SuperDrive is concerning.

If you can tolerate Windows, I wouldn't see why not. If, on the other hand, you're ready for something new, OS X can be very rewarding.
