A friend has an issue and is looking for a solution:
He is a DJ on his off days, and used his old macbook to play the music via firewire to the soundcard, now he has been down to look at the new macbooks, he has found they have no firewire (god knows why), they have recommended that he should look at the new macbook pro as that has firewire, is ther any other way he can do it with the current macbook instead of the macbook pro?
His sound card only has a firewire connection is there any way for him to hook it up or is it a waste of time and he should just replace the soundcard?
hes looked at:
Pixela 1394 to USB 2.0 Capture Cable. Transfer your camcorder video to your PC or laptop via USB 2.0. One of a kind product!
FireWire-to-USB cable, Windows-only for now | The Apple Core | ZDNet.com
FireWire-to-USB: MacBook Redeemer? | TheAppleBlog
But they dont mention anything about the power differences USB is 5v and Firewire is above that.
Is there a solution to this?
