Hey guys

I have a macbook pro MA611LL/J. It currently has 2GB of ram. I am considering upgrading my ram to 4GB but can my MBP support 4GB?

According to the specs it can only take upto 3GB but I am sure I read somewhere that it would be possible in the future for it to work. I just need to be sure before I order 4GB.

You can upgrade to 4 GB. Order two units of 2 GB RAM each, replace them, and they shall work fine.

Are you really sure as it clearly says on the apple site that it will only run 3GB. I swear I read something a while back about it being possible with a firmware upgrade.

I just want to be sure before buying them.

I juste read that it will only read 3.25GB or something but the DDR fact makes 4GB worth it. Thanks.

I upgraded to 4GB RAM a few weeks back and it's been nothing but smooth (and faster) sailing. Now if we could go up to 5GB or 6GB that would be some pretty darned motorboat-fast sailing!
