Upgrade stock 120gig to 320 gig

Hello

I have a santa rosa macbook, 2.2 c2d. I purchased the new seagate momentus 7200.3 320 gig 7200 rpm HD for my macbook. I put the drive into the macbook, but when I tried to install the OSX leopard install disk says that it cannot install to my disk. I've tried formatting every which way.

Any helps?

Specifically why does it say it can't install?
