Alright well my worst fears have just come up. As I was in the process of putting all my information on my external drive my notebook drive was shot. The lady said that they will put a new one in under the warranty but I was wondering if I bring them a bigger drive like 250gb would they put that in there instead of the factory one and it still be under warranty afterwards after they did it?

The hard drive in a standard MacBook is considered user-serviceable.

These instructions are provided by Apple for doing so. So, if you are willing to pay for an upgraded hard drive, you can easily install it yourself.

No no. She said the warranty would be voided if I choose to put one in myself that was larger. Basically she was saying that if I wanted a bigger HD then I would have to pay them for the HD and the labor.

If she said that, she's absolutely lying and she probably knows it. I'd just let them cover the warranty stuff, load everything back onto the new replacement drive, run a Super Duper backup and then do the upgrade myself. That way you have a second drive if your new 250 drive dies.

Yeah I knew she was lying cause there are like how to manuals off of apples website. She was extremely rude too. Wasn't taking a liking to her either of those.
