    Specs:
    24'' iMac 2.8 GHz, 4 Gig RAM, 500 GB HD. 15.4'' MBP, 2.6 GHz, 4 Gig RAM, 200GB HD, iPhone 8GB.
    Does iMac support a second monitor?
    Does iMac support a second monitor? I would like to hook up a Dell 24" to my iMac, is that possible?

    All iMacs from the iMac DV in 1999 to the present have supported a second monitor.

    iMac late 2007 10.11.b4, iMac 2008 10.10.5, Macbook2007 10.7.5, Mac Mini 10.7.5, iPhone 3GS Note 8!!
    Yes, DB is right as always. The difference is the Intel iMacs support Spanning where the older iMacs did not except with a hack.

    Mac Pro 8x3.0ghz 12gb ram 8800GT , MBP 2.16 2GB Ram 17 inch.
    the monitors are not the same, they do nto have to have the same contents.. pretty much gives you screens that act as one, where as mirroring would just put the same thing on both screens.

    ^^ it shouldn't, I have that same hookup, from my old PC.

    EDIT: Plus you have a really good machine, it wouldn't matter anyways, you have a good mac to support it.
