Imac Black Screen Problem

Hello I have the following problem
My computer turns on, No chime nothing the only thing on, is the little white light in the front, the screen is totally black, the mouse is not on. I have try to do the following
a. keyboard to wake up
b. Turn off in the back, turn back on
c. Unplugged wait several minutes try power on – off
d. Command – option P R Key

Any ideas. Besides the obvious one - Take computer in

Only thing I can think of: motherboard battery is dead.
User changeable unless you're a total klutz, then take it in.

What iMac do you own?
If you cant get it to work, it's most likely a battery issue. If the battery is dead, they just won't power on correctly.
