iMac trouble **Time sensitive**

I have an intel duo core iMac and recently it has been giving me the gray screen where it says you need to restart and so I do, but this time when it did it, it will not start back up. It acts like it is going to, the light comes on, the hard drives spins a bit, but there is no screen and nothing further. like it started for a couple seconds and then, nothing. Please help.

That is what happened, but the problem now is that that computer will not restart. The power light goes on and the hard drive will spin, but there is no screen.

It sounds like a job for the Apple store....

My iMac G5 went to sleep and wouldn't wake up...same symptoms as you mention...hard drive spins, lights on but no-one home....led to a new LCD screen being installed.

Yes, so far they've replaced 1 LogicBoard and 2 LCD's.

I plan to get the extended Apple Care warranty in the next couple of weeks too.....

I have an ibook that has had the logic board replaced and now it is doing a funky screen thing (I posted about that in here a while back) and it is just plain weird, never used to have problems with the Macs, but now these two pretty close to each other, kinda weird.

try pushing the tiny reset buttons on the side of the computer

the side buttons will recover the last good config, as soon as it boots back up backup any new files you had added because when you boot back up it goes to an older configuration
