    @Adrianx

    If SIMBL is the problem, and I frankly don't know, here is a Link to the Developer's site which also invites questions and there is a direct email address to the Developer: http://www.culater.net/software/SIMBL/SIMBL.php

    The Developer will provide details for the proper uninstallation of SIMBL if desired.

    I have copy/pasted this bit of info from another site:

    "below are the locations where SIMBL, its plugins and (occasionally) scripting controls are found:

    /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins
    /Library/ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax "

    You may find some of this helpful, I hope.

    Thank you for your reply however I did follow up on the direct link email so that I could ask a question and received almost immediately the following (Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. vpopmail (#5.1.1) so I am not able to make contact and / or ask for uninstallation details.
    Any advice welcome.
    Regards.

    Ah...

    Sorry, just picked up the web link which I thought would be helpful. It seems that the Developer is no longer supporting SIMBL. Pity, but it is a very old product.

    The details about the location in the second part of my post will hopefully point you in the direction of where SIMBL is to be found. These could be deleted if you wished to do that.

    Apologies for your inconvenience.
