A storm knocked out power, and my computers of course turned off. Immediately after booting up my 2011 iMac, I started to get a "cable unplugged" error. The WiFi works fine.

I tried using different cables, but that doesn't appear to be the issue. I tried plugging an ethernet capable laptop into my router, and it worked fine, so there isn't an issue with my router's cable ports.

I've tried a handful of tricks that I read elsewhere in this forum:
-Shut down computer. Disconnect all peripherals, boot up. Add drives and cables afterward. But it didn't solve the issue.
-Tried to mess around with the network settings, thinking I could manually make the connection. That didn't help any, so I returned the settings to automatic, as it had been set when it was still working.

Is it possible the network plug on my iMac is broken? How would one test that? I have included screenshots in the hope someone who has dealt with this issue before might spot something out of whack.

The easiest way to test to see if the Ethernet plug was fried during the storm is to plug a cable into it and plug the other end to a router that had an LED indicating a valid connection has been made (usually green). If you don't see that happening, then the port is fried and you will have to rely on the WiFi.

If you still have AppleCare on this iMac, you should call Apple and see what (if anything) they'll do for you..
