    Desktop display & function problems
    IMac OS10.7.5

Very recently something strange has developed on my machine. Both Finder and Trash are frozen, no icons on screen, no access to docs at all, menu flashing or not there at all!

But things like Mail and Firefox working fine.

I have done a safe reboot, done all disk checks and reinstalled system, all to no avail.

    Any Ideas???

Launch Disk Utility...and try a permissions repair. If that doesn't help...we can try other things.

Done that already. In fact every check in Disk First Aid has been done, disk and permissions.

Try downloading, installing, and running the maintenance app called Onyx (free):

    Titanium's Software • Index page

Just click on the "auto" button...and let it do it's thing.
