I don't know if this has already been raised but here goes. Why on earth have Apple omitted to put in a dvd/cd player/burner in the new iMacs and MacBook Pros? What is really annoying is that in the Apple Store blurb for these products, nowhere does it mention this very important omission. They're very good at avoiding mentioning the removal of valuable features. Has anyone seen anything from Apple regarding this? How are new users supposed to transfer CDs they have purchased into their iTunes library, or burn a playlist off? I find this really annoying which shows a real disrespect to their loyal customers. The reason there isn't a player in the new iMacs is because they have reduced the overall thickness of the iMac so it isn't possible. WHY? It wasn't necessary to further reduce the thickness. There are no advantages gained from this. Rant over!

Beaten to a pulp alas. The day of the disc is over ~ thumb drives rule. Same when floppy was removed from the original iMac.
