I am in the market for a new desktop, previously a windows. And I was wondering what your opinions are on getting an older imac duo-core, now i was thinking of converting to apple (iphone in a year and possibly Ipad2 now). ANd if I do like apple I would upgrade to the I3

I would be using the desktop for basic computer funcions like internet, word processing, storing pictures, music, etc. Not really into the video or music editing.

Thanks for any input

The C2D would be fine.

any dents, or scrapes would indicate it being dropped. make sure you boot into it, check everything is speedy. if something is sluggish, you could have a dying hard drive. if it doesnt turn on.... even worse. also go into "about this mac" and check it has the amount of RAM and disk space advertised.
