After regrettably spilling cola over my Apple keyboard the other day it has been acting rather strange turning itself off after every boot etc. And today I just noticed that whilst holding down shift and pressing no letter appears?? But if I turn caps lock on it works. IS there anyway without taking a trip to my apple store 1 and a half hours away of trying a repair?

It probably doesn't make a BIG difference...but what sort/model keyboard are we talking about?

Your keyboard is doing coke ? Want to do an intervention ? I mean, we can't have that thing thinking that it's cool to type in CAPS all the time!

That stuff will gradually eat it's way through your Mac. Evil stuff.

If a thorough cleaning and drying doesn't fix it, you might consider the below instead of driving an hour or more:

From Amazon (US)
Apple Aluminum Wired Keyboard MB110LL/A $49.99
Apple Wireless Keyboard (Retail Packaging) $69.00

I don't work for or own stock in Amazon BTW (they just get a lot of my money) :)

I have the apple wireless keyboard included with the intel iMac's.
I would rather it stop working all together that way I can take it into apple and they will not find the keys to be sticky as there will be no tests they can do ;) ROFL
How could I try and clean the keys off as all of the one side of the keyboard has sticky keys

Do you think Apple will really fall for that? They must get hundreds and hundreds of claims for similar spills each and every year. As stated before in your previous thread keep drinks away as electronic + liquids = death..

It is eating away at a fast rate now :( I cannot use certain keys and I cannot quit a programme from the keyboard anymore. How long should it take roughly to stop completely? Also should I wait until it does not work at all or should I take it into the store as it is?

Is it worth a try I do not have £55.00 to spend!!! Apple couldn't remove my warranty if they caught me out? I think I will find myself using a Microsoft keyboard :'( The guy today that tested my mouse did not strip it down he clicked it a few times whilst carrying out a test on a macbook and gave me a new one almost instantly! I certainly will never have a drink on my desk again.
