hi all, im not sure what happened but, i moved my g5 from a room downstairs to the office upstairs, and it wont boot anymore.

ive pulled all the pci/agp cards and hard drives, airport card etc, and tried again but it dont power on. and i've tried different combos of ram

all i get is the click u usually get when u plug it in. but when i press the power button the fans spin for a fraction of a second and the power light flashes on and off in the same amount of time.

any ideas??? all i can think is logic board/psu has anybody else had any issues like this??

It sounds like the power supply is faulty, but it could be other things as well. But a dead power supply usually means no signs of life at all, as if it's not plugged in, not the short burst of power that your getting (Fans and power light for a second) So is there something that you could've done while moving it? Possibly bang it or jar it a little too much?

Too many...
Did you check to see if it works back where you last had it downstairs? My room has connects to two fuses, only one has enough power to let my PM-G5 work.

is there anyway of me checking out the power supply. i know with pc/ATX liek the b&w g3's. I could force a 'power good' with an led and check all the outputs with the tester. Does anybody know the pinouts for these. I don't fancy dishing out for a new psu if its something else.

yeah, I've tried it back where it was and in several other outlets and other leads to no avail.

Oh btw its 20 dual not 1.8.. don't know if that makes a difference
