    Question eMac has stuck resolution
Hi everybody. I just have a quick question: I have a realitive with an eMac G4, and when I recently upgrading the computer to 10.2, the resolution was at 800x600. It doesn't take up the full screen. Does anybody know how to make the picture take up the full screen? Thanks!

    Specs:
    27 iMac i5, MBP 13 & iMac 20, 2TB dual TC, AppleTV, iPh4S
10.3 was supposed to be first fairly stable OS but in todays scene i reckon you would be better getting hold of Tiger and putting that on the eMac. It might need a bit more ram but it would be a much improved internet experience in todays environment.

I don't think that's possible, it has an 80 gig hd and 512 mb ram.

I'm going to suggest two possibilities:

    - go into the system preferences, then open "display"...I'm not 100% sure with 10.2...but sometimes there's a set of controls to adjust various screen dimension parameters when we are talking about a CRT based Mac computer.

    - another possibility is the CRT display is on it's last legs. I don't know how to exactly explain it...but sometimes as a CRT display get older & worn out...the display starts to shrink in size. Probably due to some of the electronic components getting old/worn...and not sending as strong of a signal.

Hopefully suggestion #1 will get things back in order. Please post if you are successful or not.

Yes, Nick's right, it's Sys Prefs > Displays > Display. With that eMac, you should have three or four options of resolution.

To adjust the expanse of the screen, you need to go Sys Prefs > Displays > Geometry, and fiddle about with the settings there. You may wish to try Factory Defaults first.

You can take the eMac, depending on model - which isn't mentioned - up to 1 Gb or 2 Gb RAM , and upgrade the hard drive. All eMacs support 128 Gb or larger ATA drives.

Thanks for posting the detailed path...these were the settings that I was referring to in my earlier post.
