Losing hard drive space

How can I reclame my hard drive space i have gone from 40 gb down two 20gb and I have no Idea why. I have deleted all my videos etc but still only got 20gb

I use Paralles and used some windows apps but i have uninstall those as well I have also dump most of my lagre file to a usb hard disk

how can i find the these large files and delete them

Do you have iDisk turned on? I had that happen to me several months ago on my other iMac and Apple said that they have had problems now and than with iDisk doing that. iDisk completely maxed my HDD. When I shut it off and deleted the extra crap it was fine.

I`m sorry i new to the imac. I looked at the idisk but how do you turn it off as it appeers it wants to set an account up

Go to system preferences and click .Mac and than iDisk and see if it is on. If you don't have a .Mac account you don't have it on. You can also do a search on this board by typing in something like hard drive
